Discover 2019's Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate

Discover 2019's Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate

In early 2018, Microsoft announced a huge restructuring to their certifications. This came about as a reaction to the growing demand for more job-specific certifications. The Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate is 1 of the 6 new role-based certifications that represent a new generation of Microsoft learning.

This new certification was created using Job Task Analysis to identify the skills that Azure developers require from a certification so that it is far more relevant to the role of a cloud developer.

The Azure Developer Associate will provide cloud professionals with the ability to design, build and test cloud applications and services. It will prove that developers can work with cloud DBAs, admins and solution architects in implementing cloud solutions.

What are in the exams?

Initially in the new update, Microsoft released two beta exams: AZ-200 and AZ-201. Based on user feedback, these two exams have since been streamlined in an attempt to simplify the process of gaining the certification.

Microsoft introduced the AZ-203 Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure exam. Below is the breakdown for this new exam:
  • Develop Azure Infrastructure as a Service Compute Solutions (10-15%)
  • Develop Azure Platform as a Service Compute Solutions (20-25%)
  • Develop for Azure storage (15-20%)
  • Implement Azure security (10-15%)
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure solutions (15-20%)
  • Connect to and Consume Azure Services and Third-party Services (20-25%)

Why should I do this certification?

The cloud’s role is increasing in every aspect of IT. Studies have found that since 2018, 73% of enterprises have a portion of their computing infrastructure in the cloud and enterprise adoption of Microsoft Azure has increased to 52% of users. This represents a huge opportunity for IT professionals who should take advantage of the growing demand.

This certification is perfect for all Azure developers looking to expand their practical skills and gain an internationally respected certification.
