Firebrand Instructor Ed Baker runs the London Marathon

By

After 10 months of (not so accelerated) training and more than 900 miles of pounding the pavement, Firebrand Instructor Ed Baker is now ready to take on the London Marathon. Come Sunday, Ed will be lacing up his shoes and setting out on a 26.2 mile run. I for one plan to be firmly tucked up in bed snoozing.

If anyone would like to sponsor Ed, please use either:

You can look out for Ed on Sunday morning on the BBC, he's runner '33311', if you spot him, send us a picture...

A noble man running for a noble cause

If you don't already know, Ed is raising money for the Acrons Children's Hospice. Acorns offer a network of specialist care and support to children and young people who have a life limiting or life threatening illness, and their families.

Ed tragically lost his Daughter at three weeks old and speaks to the Solihull Observer, on his reasons for choosing Acorns Children's Hospice.

"We were stuck in a children's ward without facilities for parents and families, also when it became full we had to go home with a 10-day old daughter, we have to give her morphine.

There were no hospices available for us then and now there are I decided that Acorns would be my chosen charity so other families can get the support they need when their children are terminally ill"

As I said, noble man, noble cause, check out more on Ed's story below in this Weeks Solihull Observer.

And if you missed it first time, you can donate to Ed's cause here:
