Ethical Hacking...
This article in the Times is a classic example of the way that the "unethical hacking" community only have to "get lucky" 1% of the time to do damage but the "ethical hacker" has to be lucky 100% of the time to stop any damage.

security training for non-techies
Clarkson demonstrates in brilliant fashion how intelligent people (ok feel free to debate that in this case) can trip themselves up through a lack of education. "Footprinting" as this is called, although in this case Clarkson did all the donkey work and published it, is a trick employed by hackers to gain personal information about a target (company or individual). The vast majority of companies protect themselves through a massive investment in security hardware and software and ignore the users....and they as has been proved time and time again are the actual threat.
EC-Council Security 5 training addresses this very issue. A non-technical course for the end user to help protect the companies assets.

CCNP Bootcamp
Firebrand Training can make you Cisco CCNP certified on our Cisco CCNP Bootcamp training course in only 13 days - all exams included.
This is what the students say...
"It is the perfect learning environment, no distractions and always good access to resources." Philip Ruscoe, Accenture HR Services, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 29/10/2007 to 10/11/2007
"As quoted from the website, "..perfect for our zero-distraction and total-immersion philosophy." I could not agree more. An excellent location which concentrates the mind towards study." Bernie Steadman, MOD, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 29/10/2007 to 10/11/2007
"This is only for the highly motivated student. You should expect using at least 12 hours a day on studying, but the location makes it easy. There is simply nothing else to do. I would highly recommend this CCNP boot camp if you're ready to do nothing else but study, study and some more studying. Thanks for a great experience." Jeppe Schoubye, Radiometer Medical ApS, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 17/9/2007 to 29/9/2007
"I came to Firebrand* with one objective in mind: to achieve my CCNP. Firebrand* gave me the best opportunity to achieve my objective. It was a tough two weeks, stacks of work and little sleep, but I reaped the reward. I walked away a CCNP. Thanks gents." Kevin Fuller, Vodacom South Africa, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/8/2007 to 18/8/2007
"Performance in any exam is firstly governed by the attitude and willingness of the student. Second to that is the ability of the instructor to teach the students in a manner that allows progressive learing. The training enviornment has to be one that allows students to focus on the lessons without distraction. Firebrand* provides this in abundance." Alex Foster, Gamma Telecom, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/8/2007 to 18/8/2007
"Thank you! As always, great teachers." D.O., QNH, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/8/2007 to 18/8/2007
"The CCNP course was full on and days and nights were long. I learnt a lot and would recommend it to anyone but be prepared to work hard." Daniel Rae, SystemsUP, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/8/2007 to 18/8/2007
"Work hard from the start and keep working throughout the course. It'll be worth it in the end." A.O., Contractor/Freelance, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/8/2007 to 18/8/2007
"The CCNP course was very hard work and, for me personally, a very steep learning curve. Despite this it was a very useful two weeks and I leave with the first half of my certification. Thanks to Firebrand*s policy I should be able to return to complete the second half sometime later this year. All that and the food is exceptionally good aswell. Thanks." AH, --, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 14/5/2007 to 26/5/2007
"This was without a doubt one of the best educational decisions I have made in my current job. It fasttracked me from someone who knew little about everything to a guy who is confident about speaking and living the trade." Julius M. Palsson, Opin Kerfi, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 14/5/2007 to 26/5/2007
"No distractions. A perfect place to study and get certified!" Fraser Reid, Stratos Global, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 14/5/2007 to 26/5/2007
"This has been an exceptional two weeks. Hard but rewarding and I have acheived a level of focus on the exams not possible outside. Having everything to hand makes life much easier. The food is out of this world and the catering team 1st class. If you are prepared to push yourself beyond your normal limits then the end reward is there for the taking. Staying here and studying with like minded people will help to acheive that." Andy Roberts, Marsh & McLennon Companies, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 2/4/2007 to 14/4/2007
"Different to all other training providers, the environment provides zero distraFirebrand*ion from focused learning which is the objective." Duncan Arnold, Norfolk County Council, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 2/4/2007 to 14/4/2007
"I thoroughly enjoyed the 14 days CCNP and learned an enormous amount, despite the intensity and workload. It isn´t for the faint-hearted or those that lack staying power as you are working from 9am until very late every day. If you are prepared for that then you will pass. However I would also recommend this course for people just interested in gaining lots of Cisco knowledge and not concerned with exam passes. Its a great way to gain lots of knowledge quickly." Stuart Taylor, Newtel Solutions, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/11/2006 to 19/11/2006
"Thanks, it was very succeful!" Kamel Adla, A Bank, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 6/11/2006 to 19/11/2006
"This was my third visit to Firebrand* and the high standards have been maintained throughout each visit. I would wholly recomend the centre for anybody who has a real desire to learn, achieve and understand whichever discipline they choose to follow. It is not the cheapest option but by far one of the best! " Ian Meredith, Self, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 17/7/2006 to 30/7/2006
"Good instructor and high standard facility = a good learning experience." Robert Brown, Tubedale, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 27/2/2006 to 12/3/2006
"Firebrand* continues to deliver total immersion in training and, during my course, I had not a care in the world, other than for learning. Certainly for me, it is the only way to rapidly gain knowledge. " Robert Browning, Marlow Computer Services Ltd, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 27/2/2006 to 12/3/2006
"Tough course with a lot to take in, but made easier by quality tutors, accomodation and food. Highly recommended!!!!!" Paul evans, Virgin Mobile, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 12/9/2005 to 25/9/2005
"I feel Firebrand* is a good way to learn" B.N, Scotland Online, Cisco CCNP (13 Days) 12/9/2005 to 25/9/2005

"The course was very good, the tutuor was excellent and really knew the stuff and finally the learning environment was fantastic. I will be doing another course in January 08 and will always consider using Firebrand as a training provider! I would recommend the course as its format allows you to immerse yourself in studying for a couple of days and ensure that you use your time really effectively. " Tazud Miah, SCS, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 19/11/2007 to 23/11/2007
"Without doubt, the course was hard work, and if you think you can coast through like on some other courses you will be in for a bit of a shock. However, if you are serious about getting a qualification, and learning something you can genuinely use in your daily worklife, I think that this type of training, delivered by a really excellent instructor, in the context of a very professional setup that works hard to minimise any distractions, is a fantastic way to gain knowledge in a very short timeframe." Jeremy Baynham, British Seafood, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 19/11/2007 to 23/11/2007
"When they say hard work do not underestimate that fact but then you get the reward at the end. The trainer was exceptional." Mark Marshall, The Maersk Company Ltd, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 19/11/2007 to 23/11/2007
"The course was intensive and made clear my strengths and weaknesses. The teaching and amenities available were of a high standard, although you may want to think about taking extra supplies as there is no shop on-site." Brian Moylan, No one at the moment, looking for work, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 22/10/2007 to 26/10/2007
"The Firebrand training experience was one that I would wholeheartedly recommend to others wishing to immerse themselves in a particular subject. Their teaching methods ensured that my tiny little mind was filled optimally." Steve Martin, Sequence Collective Ltd, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 22/10/2007 to 26/10/2007
"The training is intense and hard going but is compensated by the beautiful surroundings. Whilst the bedrooms are quite basic they are functional and their location close to the class room is excellent." Heather Hayes, Maginus Software Solutions, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 22/10/2007 to 26/10/2007
"Excellent Instructor, excellent facilities, excellent course.. one exam Passed!" P.B., Maginus Software Solutions, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 22/10/2007 to 26/10/2007
"The course was challenging but the end result is more than worth it. Be prepared to work hard, do not think for a moment its just a week away from the office. It is a fantastic experience anyone who calls them selves an IT professional should experience. FANTASTIC! " William Relf, P&O Ferries, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 24/9/2007 to 28/9/2007
"The course was well laid out with an incredibly knowledgable, helpful and approachable instructor who taught the course in a manner that was easy to follow and understand. The facilities were great and the workload throughout the week intense. Despite long hours and a lack of sleep, I managed to get my MCTS on my first attempt - I doubt I would have managed that with the efforts of my instructor and the environment of the training centre." Mark Beeken, Olympus Automation Ltd, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 24/9/2007 to 28/9/2007
"It was an enjoyable experience; quite an intensive course but was worth it. Accommodation was excellent as well as the meals." Henry Agiddi, P&O Ferries, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (MCTS) (5 Days) 24/9/2007 to 28/9/2007

mcse training bootcamp course and certification
MCSE with Vista...this is what our students say about the course.
"The facilities and instructors at Firebrand Training were nothing short of exceptional. This is now the only way that I would consider carrying out future training. The course was certainly tough and the days were long, but at the end of the two weeks the feeling of satisfaction and achievement were worth the hours. " Ben Hughes, Aston Science Park, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"Firebrand Training is, for certain, an icon in the Triaing Horizon. I renetly took MCSE Vista course and the knowledge I added to myslf is exceptional. I would assure you my trust that the experience is marvelous and the food is like just seven stars hotel food. Make it your next training distination!! " Imran Al Akhzami, kalSoft LLC, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"Although I did not pass all the exams I required to attain my MCSE the amount that I learned was amazing. Very good experience overall." Derek Besler, db applied computers, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"Firebrand Training lived up to their expectations with a high quality instructor, training centre and accommodation. The setup took away all the distractions that impede learning and generated a healthy collaborative environment in the classroom. Firebrand managed to fit an MCSE normally recommended to be completed in 42 weeks into 2. Be under no illusion you will need the necessary previous experience and will have to work hard but it will be worth it." Rob Farnell, CET SAFEHOUSE (Previously named CET Group Ltd), Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"I cannot thank my lecturer enough for his assistance and overall ability to try and help me along in what was a very tough week. As mentioned I can only hope he will be available when I return for me second week." John Painter, Plan-Net (contracted to NM Rothschild), Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"The facilities and staff at Heythrop Park were nothing short of exceptional. The 14 days course was very hard work, but also very rewarding. I dont think that I will train in any other way in the future." Ben Hughes, Aston Science Park, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"I started off on the wrong foot. I arrived a day late due to no failure of Firebrand. I got stuck in and bonded with the enviroment so as to maximize the oportunities this centre offers. All staff were very generous and extreemly helpfull. My instructor was extreemly knowledgeable in the Microsoft arena will real world knowledge and cold hard facts to back it up. His history is very impressive. I found that he was easy to relate to, talk to and approach. His ability to deliver the course work in a relaxed, contious stream was extreemly impressive to watch. A generally nice guy and someone to look upto and aspire to, even if he is younger than me (git !). Many thanks, much appreciated." Darren Monksfield, MTV Networks Europe (Music Channel), Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 19/11/2007 to 2/12/2007
"I enjoyed the experience. I was very apprehensive and not sure if I was over commiting myself, but was proved wrong. Dont be dissallusioned though, 14 days and 7 exams is a tough call. You need to prepare both physically and mentally to be strong to the end. You also need to fast for a week before arriving, you get well looked after, you will not lose weight at Firebrand!" Michael Brown, Myself, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 22/10/2007 to 4/11/2007
"The isolation of the course starts off intense but by the end you are happy to be alone to conentrate on study for the exams. " Chris McEwan, Morse, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 5/11/2007 to 18/11/2007
"MCSE2003 Vista 2 Week Course, whether you pass all your exams in one sitting or not this is a fantastic course. Be prepared to work beyond your norm, it is a seriously intensive course, you work long hours, pre-reading is essential (unless you are an expert), its also a great environment to learn and share experience with instructors and other students, you will never get a better learning environment with all this in one place. Thanks." Sean Collins, NRG International, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 5/11/2007 to 18/11/2007
"Amazing course! Didnt think anyone could be taught so much so quickly, and with such real world relevance. The Firebrand team are all top notch, from cleaning, to catering, to support. The course requires real hard graft, but its excellently delivered by great instructors." Richard Burley, Lerch Bates (Europe), Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 5/11/2007 to 18/11/2007
"My 2 week MCSE course was well extrememly well run. Our trainer was knowledgeable and made sure that we all had a good understanding of the topics covered. The centre facilities were clean and comfortable and the food was out of this world! I would thoroughly recommend Firebrand to other professionals seeking to expand their skills and gain certifications." Steve Middlemiss, Powergate, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 5/11/2007 to 18/11/2007
"I did the MCSE Vista - 14 long, hard days, but put in the time, and the effort to suceed and you WILL do it. I passed all my exams, against my expectations. I did not fully expect to walk away with a full MCSE qualification. But all credit due to the Instructor & all the course materials, books etc. It IS accelerated learning, you learn hard & fast, and have to put in the study at night, we were in class at midnight most nights preparing for exams. You have an exam every 2nd day. It's rewarding, but tough. Go with this expectation and you will succeed." Ted Thomas, IM Group Ltd, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 8/10/2007 to 21/10/2007
"There is no doubt I learned a huge amount whilst on the MCSE Vista course. However, be very sure if you sign up for this that you are prepared to work extremely hard and long hours (strap yourself in and pin your ears back because you'll be going on one hell of a ride!!!). Your efforts will be rewarded." Dr. Robert Hayes, Wytech Ltd, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 8/10/2007 to 21/10/2007
"Comfy rooms, friendly staff, nice food and excellent instruction." H.B., N/A, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 27/8/2007 to 9/9/2007
"Before attending Firebrand Training, I would never have believed that I could learn and retain so much new information in such little time. Their methods really do work. " Gareth Bowen, VMETRO Ltd, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 17/9/2007 to 30/9/2007
"From booking the course only 5 days before attending everyone I had contact with at Firebrand was very polite, courteous, and efficient in carrying out their duties. To be able to just concentrate on learning for the whole 2 weeks was fantastic. The trainer was superb with great anecdotes of real life experience in the IT arena. Thanks Firebrand." Stuart Johnston, Burns Anderson, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 17/9/2007 to 30/9/2007
"Firebrand* is a great environment for accelerated learning. The skills and knowledge learnt in a couple of weeks at Firebrand* would have taken many months to learn on my own." Anthony Yau, The QSS Group Limited, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 27/8/2007 to 9/9/2007
"Firebrand* was a lot more than i expected from accelerated learning, there was a hell of a lot of information we had to learn but somehow the trainers help cram it all in with extra real life experiences they have had, i am so pleased i chose Firebrand* and WILL use them all the time. " Mathew Sealy, Help 3000 Limited, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 27/8/2007 to 9/9/2007
"Like others before me I was sceptical about Bootcamp-style training, but the facilites and overall experience at "Firebrand*" has dispensed with this myth, as being self employed I could ill afford the time away from work and earning, to this reason alone I have avoided furthering my career and knowledge through training. "It is without reservation that I recommend Firebrand* for anyone looking to further their knowledge or swell their list of certifications"." Dale Sprott, Vallo Ltd, Microsoft MCSE Vista Security+ Certification (14 Days) 27/8/2007 to 9/9/2007
